ALFRED SCHWARZ (German 1867-1951) — Woman at the Piano, 1901
$2,500
Oil on canvas; Signed, annotated: “Alfred Schwarz Sr., Berlin 30 Janvier 1901”; Primarily a painter of portraits, as reflected in this wonderfully spontaneous and painterly work–the dashing use of the brush and impasto, coupled to an elegant ‘unfinished’ aspect, lend this depiction of a handsome woman at the piano a liveliness and palpable musicality. _
