The displays share a common classical heritage. albeit from different epochs. “CONSTRUCTION” is illustrated by development of a three-dimensional human form from fragments that float through space, are attracted together, and collected to create the digital image of a well-known Roman sculpture on view at the Getty Villa, Malibu.
“DECONSTRUCTION” of the Greek bust that follows has its conceptual origins in the development of cubism, suggesting the process of transition from a classical sculptural form to a minimalist ‘cubist’ transformation of that form.
