LAURENT SCHKOLNYK (French 1953-) — Theatre Interior Exit

Color Mezzotint on Arches paper; Edition 28/55; Signed; Laurent Schkolnyk was born in Paris in 1953. He studied drawing and etching at the Beaux Arts in Nantes, and later with Professor Guimezanes who taught the mezzotint technique. Schkolnyk became a recognized master of three-color mezzotint prints, where three separate mezzotint plates are made for the primary colors so that during printing, the colors mix to create a full spectrum, from bright reds to rich blacks. Schkolnyk has had solo exhibitions in Paris, Tokyo, San Francisco, and Seattle. His work has been included in numerous group exhibitions in France, the United States, and Asia. He currently lives and work in Nantes, France.
